This is not your ordinary lidded jar. Not only is it impressed with the last surviving winter green leaves of blackberry vines in Central Virginia…. Not only does it have little red clay “berries”…. Not only did the amber glaze toast beautifully, BUT it has its own guardian vulture perched on its knob. One of my sumi-e series of pieces, the vulture is a clay “sketch” of a bird, meant to evoke the spontaneity of ink-brush paintings. 12.25″ tall by 6.5″ diameter.
