I discovered rattlesnake root just three years ago, when it suddenly started appearing in the woods I frequent.  Now it is spreading like crazy in those woods, and in a lot of other places.  It may be that I have only just now “tuned in” to its distinctive leaf shape, or, in our warming climate, it has found a home in places it hadn’t been comfortable before.  This bowl has a cameo in celadon glaze with the impression of a rattlesnake root leaf.  That cameo is surrounded by my hand-pressed churchkey pattern with a red iron oxide wash over it.  Top that off with a black rim and exterior.  This bowl is 5″ deep by 13″ in diameter.
