Large lidded jar in poppy red glaze with the impression of nandena leaves in a bamboo pattern.  The knob is a hand-sculpted clay quail, made in honor of 2018’s being The Year of the Bird.  You can read all about it in my blog post of the same name.  The foot, shoulder and lid of this jar are decorated with an intricate hand-pressed pattern of points made one at a time with a church-key (look it up if you’re too young to know the meaning of church-key, but it has to do with beverages).  10″ tall by 7″ in diameter.
