One of my new bird pieces made to honor 2018 as Year of the Bird in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Check out my most recent blog post for more information. This tallish teapot is impressed with Christmas ferns and has lovely fiddlehead details on the handle. But best of all, it’s got a tiny quail as its knob. While I was making it, it occurred to me that a quail’s top-knot is similar is shape to a fiddlehead, so it seemed fitting to top this teapot with a quail. Glazed in light cornflower blue/oxide/black. Functional with care. 7.5″ tall by 8″ x 5″.
