A beautiful celadon green cameo with a crisp impression of a frond of poisonous water hemlock sits at the center of this bowl, surrounded by an intricate pattern of points expanding outward to the rim. The point pattern is made, one point pressed at a time into the wet clay, with the can-opening end of a church-key. The bottle-opening end is reserved for opening bottles. The rim and deepest parts of the points are black, as is the outside of the bowl; the point pattern is washed with red iron oxide. 9.5″ in diameter, 3.5″ deep.
