Inspired by the iron teapots of Japan, this wheel-thrown stoneware teapot is textured with a hand-pressed churchkey pattern all over, and treated with a red-iron oxide wash for a slightly metallic look. The handles are pulled stoneware, but mimic wrought iron. The knob is an inverted nautilus shape. The teapot is functional with very careful use, as the handle is delicate. If you grasp the handle at its thickest point, near the base, and support the weight of the teapot and its contents with your other hand, it will work and pour well. 8.5″ tall by 7.5″ by 5.5″.
