This beautiful, rotund jar is impressed with dogwood leaves and accented with red dogwood “berries.” Topped with a black bird and embellished with a geometric churchkey pattern in red iron oxide at base, shoulder and lid. Glazed in amber celadon. The piece WAS absolutely a first, until it slipped a little in my hands while I unloaded it from the kiln and tapped the piece beneath it, resulting in an invisible crack. You can hear that the piece is cracked if you tap it. So, this second must be handled with care, and not filled with liquid. 9.5″ high by 7″ diameter. Usually, $420; as a second–$150.
THIS PARTICULAR PIECE HAS SOLD, BUT THROUGH AUGUST 2, I’M HAPPY TO TAKE ORDERS FOR A NEW PIECE AT 30% OFF, $294.
