For about three years running, now, I haven’t been able to take it for granted that my platters would not warp in the kiln.  What gives?  My clay has been a bit wet, perhaps, or my kilns don’t fire evenly, or….?  You benefit, because I create more platter seconds than any other form.  The piece on the right in this picture has a beautiful impression of rattlesnake root leaves, and is glazed in a deep, but translucent cobalt blue.  It’s perfectly safe for serving food and going into the dishwasher, but its rim is noticeably warped when placed flat on a table.  When shown in a plate stand, however, it looks perfect.  1.5″ deep by 12.75″ diameter.  Usually $360: Second $160.
