This little vase is one in my weed vase series, meant to highlight the beauty of pest plants.  The potato vine impressed on this piece has lovely heart-shaped leaves in graduated sizes on its delicate vine.  I took some liberty and added pretty red clay “berries” where the real vine would sprout homely little potato-looking growths that seem to be very effective in spreading the vine’s seeds.  A rim touched with red iron oxide adds a bit of contrast.  This vase looks terrific with a wildly colorful bunch of zinnias.  6.25″ tall, 4.25″ at belly.
