Horse-nettle is a nasty plant, full of sharp thorns along its stem and even along the veins of its leaves. I have to carefully de-thorn each specimen before I can press them into the wet clay to get an impression. Therefore, I love horse-nettle as a candidate for use on my Weed Vase series. This vase is the largest in the trio shown below. It has 8 red berries, and measures 8″ tall by 6″ in diameter. In the other picture below, the vase is shown with a print of a drawing I made of a horse-nettle plant. Prints are available for sale (along with all sorts of other non-pottery items) in the Gallery section of this website. This vase is dishwasher safe, BTW.
