Welcome to the website of ceramic artist Suzanne Crane. Suzanne produces fine, functional stoneware by hand in her studio in Earlysville, Virginia, not far from Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. Her work is inspired by the graphics and pottery of the Arts and Crafts movement, by the abstractions of flora and fauna in 19th century natural history book illustrations, by fractal geometry, and by her family’s interest in botany and land conservation. Crane exhibits her work locally at Mud Dauber Pottery’s gallery in Earlysville, Virginia, and nationally at juried fine art and craft shows such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, the American Craft Exposition in Evanston, IL, and the Saint Louis Art Fair.
